All of those tags deserve to be linked.

The "Erik Estrada" tag is linked, and linked to Cool Cat videos no less.

Old_Zircon - 2015-07-12

This one is pretty good, too:

memedumpster - 2015-07-12

infinite zest - 2015-07-12

I putt in the hopper

infinite zest - 2015-07-12

I peed in the hopper

Old_Zircon - 2015-07-13

When is the Hooper going to come back, anyhow?

Nominal - 2015-07-12

I forget, did anyone find out if this was a joke or not?

fluffy - 2015-07-12

The fact it's hard to tell is what makes this so great.

Old_Zircon - 2015-07-12

I don't think it would be any less great either way.

Old_Zircon - 2015-07-12

One thing I'm pretty sure of is that regardless of is that whether it started out as a joke, Derek Savage probably knows what side his bread is buttered on by now.

infinite zest - 2015-07-12

Yeah.. pretty much what I said below. I'm not playing that stupid .swf game on the website again to figure it out, but he's an improv comedian in a group kinda like the Groundlings. That's the only name that comes up for anybody in the Los Angeles area. Even the critique of the movie is kinda suspicious; there's a couple of scenes that seem different than in the trailer, but that's pretty standard (remember that really cool scene from the Twister trailer that wasn't in the movie at all)? And Cool Cat's advice is about the worst advice you can give to a child.

I mean, this was sort of the model for those TV Funhouse sketches, the Safety Gang, so it's nothing new. Not to mention Wonder Showzen after that, but if it was indeed fake and my hypothesis is right, it just sucks that we don't get to see more Cool Cat. If this is indeed 100% real, god help the youth of America, all 2 or 3 of them that actually got a hold of the DVD.

Erik Estrada trying to sell lemonade to Cool Cat feels like an audition reel.

infinite zest - 2015-07-12

COOL CAT! So about a year ago I said that I thought this was some Nathan For You thing, and I was wrong. But all signs on the website lead back to a name, like if you play that little game and it goes to a LA Comedian who's name I can't remember.

BiggerJ - 2015-07-12

Derek Savage, as mentioned above?

BiggerJ - 2015-07-12

Okay, I played the game and it's Jason Gullifer.

Old_Zircon - 2015-07-12

If it's fake then he deserves credit for effort, he had quite a few DVDs manufactured (the eBay numbers suggest he's sold a few hundred) and I know at least one of the comics was actually made because I have a copy, and he's not over-selling it. I lean toward fake but it really could go either way. There re just a few too many details like Comic Sans (and the web site in general), the book I liked to above, that's all suspect but well played. I'm happy with it either way.

Ugh - 2015-07-12

when i grow up i wanna be COOL CAT

BiggerJ - 2015-07-13

Needs Cool Cat and Derek Savage tags. You might need to remove one of the unlinked tags to get them both to show up (only five tags show up; unlinked tags might be overridden by linked tags, I don't know for sure).
