Sonic Boom is the fifth animated series based on Sonic the Hedgehog. The series is set in a futuristic Tokyo fifteen years after a worldwide cataclysm. The story centers on Sonic, a teenage boy who is recruited by the shadowy organization SEGA to pilot a giant bio-machine called a H.E.D.G.E.H.O.G. in combat against monstrous beings known as Eggmen. I turned out watching this episode and this is actually in the show! I just assumed it was a fan edit or something. Is this another one of those shows where they just say "do whatever you want with this" to the writers like Ghost Stories?

In case you were wondering the premise of this episode is that Sonic calls his grey furry friend a "regular person" who shouldn't go into battle with Eggman and has to go to sensitivity training classes. That's actually kinda funny.

But I remember Sonic as an environmentalist disguised as a fun game. For whatever reason I thought shows like Captain Planet or any show getting me to "RECYCLE TO THE EXTREME" were kinda lame, not that I don't think those things are important; Just make better PSAs and don't try to disguise it. So have SEGA just abandoned that completely and decided to troll its fanbase at this point?
