Poop. Well fuck the cool police! I swear this was on some New Order compilation I torrented back in college. Many mixtapes were mislabled. But I'm not a DJ "DJ".. I do DJ events for small arts organizations but that's about it. And I'm a "bouncer" meaning I take money at the door for shows when I need extra work, but yeah I seriously thought this was New Order!

I paid full price for mine when it came out. Loved that album, it was one of the first I bought at a real record store at regular record prices. I was turned on by the Midi sound in full force on all the tracks, a breakthrough for a pop album at the time.

I also got into Yaz (Yazoo) Upstairs At Eric's, Associates, Soft Cell and others I associate with that time.

I forgot about 'Human', but I used to play it on the radio since I had a good quality copy. Why did all of those New Romantics period bands go to soft A/C music?

Phil Collins, Billy Ocean, and look at what happened to Spandau Ballet! True, Spandau probably had their biggest hit with True, and I guess Gold came before that, but they had much harder songs like The Freeze and Communication.

I think Communication is a solidly crafted pop song, and that would be on my new romantics playlist, along with 18 Carat Love Affair by Associates, and Change by Tears For Fears.
