Potrod - 2015-09-27

*spit take*

yogarfield - 2015-09-29

funny how contagious they can be. it's far too early in the morning to be losing whiskey.

twinkieafternoon - 2015-09-27

Every man must find the moment when it's time to take a STAND.

baleen - 2015-09-27

The tragedy for this no doubt relentlessly teased and taunted kid, this stand will popularize his tormentors and perhaps even monetize their posts, whereas for this 6 seconds alone he will spend the rest of the years of his life living a complete nightmare.

Caminante Nocturno - 2015-09-27

He retroactively earned all of that bullying by dismissing his peer's broken elbow.

That guy - 2015-09-27

Yeah. There are some things that you just don't not care about.

Potrod - 2015-09-27

Counterpoint: every single person who's seen this, and both parties involved, will have forgotten about this by the time the kid gets to college. There's a 99% chance that the bully matures and ends up a decent adult. There's a 99% chance the other kid ends up a normal adult. I don't mean to excuse bullying, it makes school hell, but this isn't exactly the star wars lightsaber kid.

baleen - 2015-09-28

"There's a 99% chance that the bully matures and ends up a decent adult."

What a lovely statistic to believe in.

RedRust - 2015-09-28

Seeing all the "mean girls" of elementary days grow up to have happy smiling white-toothed families (on facebook) made me sick to my stomach. However, all sorts of people breed, so there.

The "I don't care about your elbow" kid likely had to put up with hearing some monologue in class from an loud, obnoxious, yet popular student telling his "how I broke my elbow" anecdote.

Old_Zircon - 2015-09-29

"baleen

We've got going on two decades of post-Columbine psychological research strongly suggesting that bullies are, in fact, overwhelmingly entitle pricks who grow up into entitled pricks. There's not much to support the old platitude about bullying being a sign of insecurity. It probably is sometimes but those are the exceptions.

baleen - 2015-10-01

It's interesting to see how soon it starts. Bullying happens barely before a kid can talk. That behavior follows them their whole lives.

Caminante Nocturno - 2015-09-27

When he gets home later in the day, he looks at his fanmade Care Bears character, remembers that he said this, and is overcome with guilt.

StanleyPain - 2015-09-27

Cut to a month later and he shoots up the school.

That guy - 2015-09-27

He's probably not the type, but repeat this across 1000 kids and you'll find a few.

Robin Kestrel - 2015-09-27

Empathy is indeed both its own punishment and reward.

Accidie - 2015-09-27

Makes me wonder why I talk to people. This post is depressing.

oddeye - 2015-09-27

Yeah, less people should talk. In general really.

Apart from me.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2015-09-27

Poor bastard.

deadpan - 2015-09-27

Yeah, I hope his elbow heals properly. Broken bones are no joke.

oddeye - 2015-09-27

Did he break the bone though? Maybe he just pulled it from the socket or something. People use "broke" in all sorts of ways.

Meerkat - 2015-09-27

It would be awesome if the dude broke his elbow beating this guy up.

Ugh - 2015-09-28

quit doxxing me

chumbucket - 2015-09-28

Manny gives this exchange a quietly enthusiastic thumbs up.
