Blondi lives on in our hearts

not Hitler though

infinite zest - 2015-12-03

Seems like a good assassination plot for Hitler would be to offer to take Blondi out on a walk when Hitler's busy in his war room, replace her with a look-alike that's trained to kill Hitler and that's that. I guess you'd still probably wind up with a dead dog, but also a dead Hitler, who would later go on to kill Blondi himself.

What's with the music? Blondi's a good doggie. She's not scary, nooooo she's not, no. Who's a not-scary doggie?!

From now on, every video will use the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack.

My dog died last year and I am not ready for another. I still sleep in bed clutching the wooden box filled with his ashes.

I agreed to get a new dog recently for the sake of my family but it had to be a shelter dog as I wanted the dog and I to both get through our difficult time together.

My family bought a pure bred puppy "from champion stock" from a puppy mill a few states away that is the same damn breed as MY dog was. My wife has to go pick up a dog that none of us have ever seen from a fucking airport. It's stupid beyond words.

This poor little guy, everytime I see him I will cry inside. I will reject him and I will hate myself. He doesn't deserve to be treated so coldly by me when all he did was be born and then sold.

I don't know who this dog is, I don't know anything about his personality. I will feed him and I will definitely not abuse him but that is all I can promise.

He just isn't MY dog.

I feel ya, when my guinea pig passed away a few years ago I just thought I'd get a new one, since I had the cage, bedding, food, toys, etc. I know dogs and guinea pigs aren't the same, but he was my first pet as an adult that I raised from birth by myself, and he'd follow me around without a harness, up until his 8th birthday. Having not had kids, he was the closest thing I had to one, and 5 years later I still can't bring myself to get another one.

My parents are having a similar dilemma with my family dog, a standard poodle who lived to be 13 years old. I knew him as a puppy but I was too busy with high school and then college to make the same connection as my mom, dad and little brother who still lives with them did. My dad was the classic "never wanted a dog in the first place" kinda dad when we first got him, but he laid down by his side in his final moments on earth. So when I come over and say "hey you guys should get a new dog," since my little brother obviously wants one, I don't really take all of that into consideration the way that getting a new guinea pig for 20 bucks down at the store doesn't seem like a big deal to them.
