I agree about the problems with his tendency to use a lot of anecdotes to illustrate his points, although I don't think it's on a "I can't be racist I have a black friend" level at all.

The wiping and sniffing is a tic. I recall seeing one of his lectures where he was literally smearing snot all over his face.

His point is that hard-line PC policing can rob social interactions of their context and demonize behavior that isn't actually bad and may even be a positive interaction between people. Both his stories illustrate this point. He's not saying he can just start dropping the N-bomb whenever he feels like it because he has a black friend. He's saying he thinks blanket condemnation can be used as a means to control behavior according to what some authority has personally decided is appropriate, but their personal preferences are being presented as being in everyone's best interest.

I know that because I've seen other videos where he actually has time to really make his point, but if you came to this specific video without having heard or read any of his stuff before I think it would be easy to see it the way Xenocide did. He needs at least an hour to really make a point.
