This would have been so much better if they'd stuck only with stuff made before Star Wars.

That would be cool, but besides Hidden Fortress I can't think of too many films plotwise that happened before Star Wars on film and the other edits are pretty tangential, so throw in some space/non-space shit that borrowed from Lucas like Lucas did from Kurosawa.

I that that was partly the point - throw in bits to show how Star Wars changed the movie landscape while borrowing from predecessors. That being said, it was probably to anchor the movie with the most famous lines.

The creator could probably have done a large chunk with Flash Gordon, The Hidden Fortress, a few westerns and some WW2 dogfight movies (which Lucas himself used as a proto-animatic back for Star Wars). Maybe a few less post SW stuff and cut a few minutes off it, but it was fun to see the references and a relatively restrained use of references at that considering how much he could have thrown in.

Yeah another version with all pre-Star Wars material would be cool. I guess I just have to take his word for it, but my dad said he knew that Vader was Luke's dad when Obi Wan said he knew his father.. it's a pretty classic set up.

I know the law of That guy, but this is actually really really cool. And not a single Star or War! It's like Barthes and Campbell had really awesome sex and this was the Santorum.

I'm sorry. Babylon 5 and Halo footage set to Mars Bringer of War is an auto 1 star.

Would have been neat if it was a shot for shot remake made of stuff before Star Wars. This is just crap though.

I'm okay with dumb parodies, repurposings, overindulgent examinations, and comedic voice-overs of Star Wars. I am somehow less okay with SINCE THE DAWN OF MAN STAR WARS HAS TOUCHED THE VERY FABRIC OF ART. I found this video more frustrating than informative, and I sort of hated myself for being able to follow the plot of Star Wars in brainwasting collage format.
