American Standard - 2016-01-01
I wasn't gonna click, but then I saw "cancer" as a tag.
Am I a bad person?

American Standard - 2016-01-01 It's real. I checked. Breast cancer, Stage 3. Had a double mastectomy.
|
duck&cover - 2016-01-01 Too bad, I liked her tits on SNL.

themilkshark - 2016-01-01
Best thing she's done since UHF
|
Cena_mark - 2016-01-01 I can't tell if she's joking or not. If she has it, I wish her well. Certainly not a tactful means of announceing it. Granted anyone who shrieks out that the president is a Muslim while attempting to strum the ukelele is someone who doesn't care about tact.
|
infinite zest - 2016-01-01 Yeah it's real.. this is actually one of the more reasonable things she's done. A friend of mine's mom had breast cancer and announced that she was going in for tit cancer over Christmas when everybody was half in the bag, and that this was her last night of partying for a while, if she ever came back in the first place, so this is a better way of celebrating one of the most horrible things anybody ever has to face in their lives.
I don't like or agree with Ms. Jackson at all, but I do hope that she gets the care she needs and wish her a speedy recovery.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2016-01-01
From her webpage:
It all happened pretty suddenly. I went to the Walk In Clinic for a cough. I asked the Nurse Practitioner if the numb spot near my underarm was my lymph gland fighting the cough. He quickly sent me to the Vanderbilt Breast Clinic, (God bless him), an awesome place full of great people. Suddenly, I was in surgery (double mastectomy) and soon I’ll be beginning chemo I’m told. They say my hair will probably fall out. I’m Stage 3A. The funny thing is I’ve never felt healthier. There are no symptoms. I held a handstand two weeks ago for a Lil Dragon
Production.

Good luck crazy woman from SNL and Casual Sex?

Well, shit. I hope she gets better.
I found her weird shift towards racism & paranoia to be more saddening than infuriating.

|
Bort - 2016-01-02 I don't. I would much rather have her say, "wow, I guess Obamacare turned out to be a good thing after all, sorry I was such a tool". Cancer's a harsh road to that epiphany, I'd rather she got there via a less traumatic path.
|
StanleyPain - 2016-01-01
Karma can be a bitch, you fucking cunt.
|
|
Raggamuffin - 2016-01-02 Okay, I wouldn't wish cancer on my worst enemy.
If you are glad she has cancer you're a piece of human shit. Fuck you.
|
Bort - 2016-01-02 She's certainly not a walking advertisement of the best America has to offer, I'll give you that. In that regard she's something like easily 20% of America (and at 20% I'm lowballing it by a huge margin I would guess).
I may have pretty big problems with that 20%+ of America, but I don't wish suffering on them, beyond having to live under a better system than the one they call for and being confronted at some level with how wrong they are.

Sweet Jesus, that pre load image!

memedumpster - 2016-01-01
Go watch the Shootist and make sure everyone ELSE dies of your cancer except you.*
* this joke is probably inappropriate for modern times.

I still think there's a tiny part of her left that knows she's the greatest troll since Kaufman. I think that part has been swallowed whole by the character though.
Still, this is real, and it's honestly a really incredible way to announce it, especially the pie in the face at the end.
|
Rodents of Unusual Size - 2016-01-02
I will give this to her, she actually did something really emotionally healthy by making this. It's kind of surprising because her general awareness isn't normally astute, but she recognizes that humor can bring you through tragic circumstances.
I won't rip on her here, I'll wish her the best. It's not like she's in control of anything important. She's irrele-oh.
|
Sexy Duck Cop - 2016-01-02 Yeah, but, come on.....before you knew she actually had cancer, weren't you thinking "I hope she gets cancer"?
|
infinite zest - 2016-01-02 She didn't actually do anything to harm anyone though, she just got batshit crazy. My grandma-in-law had much, much worse things to say about Obama and she was still my grandma (in-law) when she had it. But she was still a human being.
|
Anaxagoras - 2016-01-02 Trying to take away people's civil liberties *is* harming them. Demonizing a group (or several) leads to their persecution, so that's also harming them. Being willfully ignorant and therefore espousing policies that are guaranteed to fail major problems (e.g. global warming, wealth inequality, racial bias in America, etc.) is causing harm to the entire country.
She did plenty to "actually harm" people. Fuck her.
Am I glad she has cancer? Not really. I'm indifferent. She, like all of us, is guaranteed to die. What does it matter if she dies from this, a car wreck, or choking on a pretzel? She'll end up dead eventually. The question that matters is "What did she do during her life? What kind of person was she?" And the answers to those questions are, unfortunately, "Nothing" and "A shitty person".
|
Rodents of Unusual Size - 2016-01-02 I've never felt that way, no. I just have always been slightly bemused and saddened by her lack of comprehension over politics and the need to comment on them.
I reserve cancer wishes for the execs at oil and chemical companies killing our planet.
|
Cena_mark - 2016-01-03 Anaxagoara, no, she's only attempted to do those things, but she's irrelevant.
|
American Standard - 2016-01-04 One of the nicest things about the video is she understands how little she matters.
|
Jack Dalton - 2016-01-02
The performance was depressing, but the ending was actually more revealing (and-- kind of funny). I am imagining some uncomfortable person in her family filming her under duress. "Sis, I'm going to do a bit with my ukulele." "Fuhh... Victoria-- can we have a holiday visit where I don't have to hold your camcorder? Didn't we buy you a tri-pod five years ago? What's with the whip cream?" (One minute later) "NO PLEASE DON'T" (splat)

I still think Weird Al made the right decision when he broke up with her, but man...that was sad. Not pathetic, but genuinely sad. 5 sad stars.
