8 years ago she was "brilliant" and "the future of the GOP".

One week ago Beck was dressed for an Arcade Fire concert, and now he's in hunting gear. People change all the time!

Monkey Napoleon - 2016-01-21

Yeah, but we all know that was just euphemisms for "we just might be able to beat that negro if we prop up this broad."

Cena_mark - 2016-01-22

That really is the best explanation for Palin's VP run.

Who Watches The Right Wing Watch

EvilHomer - 2016-01-21

That's a very interesting question, IZ! I haven't really thought about it like that before, but I guess I would say: the individual. So long as individual viewers understand that what they are seeing is selectively-edited political propaganda, make an effort to confirm the original context for particularly salacious stories, and balance their consumption of RWW material with content from multiple sources which hold a variety of opposing views, then I can see no problem. Critical thinking is a political choice and an intellectual duty, one which falls on each of us to be responsible enough to make.

I know some people have proposed phasing out free speech and imposing tighter content-regulation on the internet (looking at you, Sunstein), but so long as there remains a diversity of voices online, I really don't think any one group has the need, let alone the right, to "watch" (i.e. regulate) political websites like RWW.

But what is your opinion on this matter, IZ?

Meerkat - 2016-01-21

The Right Wing Watch Watch. Duh.

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2016-01-21

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Homer, but there's so much stuff on RWW that no amount of contextualizing could ever, ever rescue. Bryan Fischer, for example.

It's a complicated question; there was a time that I considered jumping ship and voting for McCain because of the BCRA, which he endorsed with Feingold. I also happened to pretty much be living with Feingold's daughter at the time, or at least she was around a lot. The few times I had a few beers with Russ when he visited he had nothing but good things to say about the man. Anyway, I knew that if my parents found out that I voted for the wrong party I'd be in deep trouble.

Since my news comes from huffington post, I lean very much to the left, but a lot of that is because of leftist propaganda in short little segments so I tend to be like "oh yeah what a weirdo" but I think it's only fair that they have a Left Wing Watch nonprofit org too! Democrats turned their backs on Lyndon back in the 60s too and turned republican because of the war. And Lincoln was a Republican. I'll still vote democrat but I would like more balanced coverage. I mean, RWW also does snippets on televangelists, like I really care. Jim Bakker might be as batshit crazy as Donald Trump but why does that matter?

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2016-01-21

There are plenty of right-wing outlets that patrol the media for left-wing bias. Accuracy in Media, for one. And yes, Fischer is low-hanging fruit. But the fruit's still there.

infinite zest - 2016-01-21

Henderson you're right but none of those are a dot org. Basically us lefties have the big boobarilla to make fun of us. AIM edits it down of course, just like RWW, but I don't think they're the same thing. RWW instils a sense of right fear that I think would be good for the other side to have too! Because eventually Palin and Trump are the same as Bakker, who's the same as McCain and so on and so on, to the point where I wouldn't notice if a democrat stole my car.

kingarthur - 2016-01-21

Since when are Democrats leftists? The party as a whole is center right at best.

kingarthur - 2016-01-21

Sorry, party establishment.

RockBolt - 2016-01-23

Coast Guard

TeenerTot - 2016-01-21

You know, I always hoped the right would eat itself. Not a bad start.

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2016-01-21

I wonder if they want dressing on that. We got olive oil and vinegar, ranch, and thousand island.

Killer Joe - 2016-01-21

If they only knew the horrors they would create...
I keep waving off the end-of-the-republican-party-as-we-know-it stories, but damn if, like trump, they don't just keep sticking around.

Bort - 2016-01-21

I WANT ALL THE HAM

Siebenstein - 2016-01-21

He should get one of those pop filters for his mic.
