He's an honorary juggalo now, if I'm not mistaken.

Prickly Pete - 2016-05-04

What the hell is an "honorary Juggalo"? That's a new one to me. He is a friend of the Juggalos, though. I would've seen him open for ICP last year but he had to bail on the tour on account of his wife had a kid. That's right, Stitches is procreating. DJ Paul from Three 6 Mafia replaced him on the tour instead which is neat, but I had already seen him. I would've rather seen Stitches blow fake cocaine all over the crowd, as one does. I also missed him at the Gathering last year because he was playing at the same as Danny "K"AE, which is something so baffling that I just suggest you Google it...

I thought he was always Fam? Do you mean to tell me that Mr Stitches got those horrible facial tattoos when he WASN'T a juggalo?!

memedumpster - 2016-05-04

Maybe it's like Mormons and you can just declare anyone a Juggalo!

EvilHomer, I dub thee NinjaHomer the Dichotomous Rhyme!

No, you can't do that; it's actually this really intricate, esoteric mystery religion. Swear to God. I've had four hours conversation about this with a 'lette friend of mine. I'd ask Pete to explain, but like the Masons and Bohemian Grove, he's probably sworn to secrecy.

memedumpster - 2016-05-05

I see!

I've always wondered if the Dark Carnival had a metaphysical component representing an actual transmigration of an independent soul, or was a historical dialectic recapitulating the shifts in attitudes within cultures regarding social standing and family. If it's the latter, they seem to preach massive amounts of vigilante justice (Halls of Illusion is the best song ever), if the former, they preach a lot of divine vengeance.

Unlike Christianity, Juggalos don't seem to have a salvation doctrine for the evil, only reward for the lost through no act of their own beyond not being the evil.

EvilHomer - 2016-05-05

I think it's a bit of both; the historical dialectic is, I believe, a big part of why Juggalism has been able to capture the hearts and souls of the disenfranchised youth of our post-Christian society, but there's definitely an element of transmigration in there, too. I don't remember too much, but the inner mysteries focus heavily on dualism (represented by the black-and-white patterns of their clown paint) and a quasi-Buddhist recontextualization of the Lotus. They believe in "sin", but they don't condemn sin in quite the same way Christians do (rather, seeing it as an aspect of enlightenment which one must overcome through gnosis and self-agency). They believe in Family, yet theirs is not the nuclear family, bound-by-blood, but rather a spiritual community of the elect. And they DEFINITELY believe in vigilante justice - although I'm not sure they recognize the authority of government courts, and would themselves claim to be following, not vigilante justice, but some bizarre admixture of sharia/common-law.

Again, Pete could tell us more, but this is probably 33rd degree stuff, and he's almost certainly sworn to secrecy.

EvilHomer - 2016-05-05

Also, from what I gather there is only one "sin" which is truly unforgivable in the eyes of the Clown: child abuse. Violent J (Peace Be Upon Him) really, really hates child molesters, so don't diddle kids if you wanna hang with your homies in Shangri-La.

EvilHomer - 2016-05-05

... then again, if Shangri-La is overrun with people like young master Stitches here, perhaps it's better to take your chances the other way.
