God damn. These guys are masters of marketing. Even though I hated every single clip of music they played, (except for Green Jelly, which is OK, and one other band I'd never heard of which was also OK) I found myself thinking "Hey... that *does* sound kind of fun."

I mean, I'm sure it *is* fun to folks that are into that type of music, but as for me... not so much. And yet, that Infomercial was able to work its magic.

I stand in awe* of these guys.

*For certain values of "awe"

The music is much better this year. Usually the only good bands are Tech N9ne, Bone Thugs, and hed(pe), but it looks like they're really branching out into metalcore stuff this year, which is hella nice of them! At this rate, they'll have a good set by 2020.

And yeah, Green Jelly!

Quad9Damage - 2016-05-26

I mean I don't really care about most of this music or the subculture. I'm almost 32. These days I'm blind to most motherfuckin' miracles.

But 0 buys four straight days of wrestling, standup comedy, food vendors, stupid contests and topless women everywhere. It sounds like a helluva lot of fun even if ICP and grindcore bands are the main attractions.

EvilHomer - 2016-05-24

Jeff Hardy!

Cena_mark - 2016-05-24

That druggy? He'd totally hang out with those idiots. He paints his face so he already fits in.

EvilHomer - 2016-05-24

You're just jealous, cuz you know John Cena wouldn't last five minutes in the JCW.

Cena_mark - 2016-05-24

Cena could take out all the yard tards in the whole world all at once.

EvilHomer - 2016-05-24

Yeah, take them all out to dinner. Joke's on Cena, though, because I doubt many of those yard tards would put out for him.

EvilHomer - 2016-05-24

And anyway, Jeff's not a yard tard. He was swanton bombing the big leagues when Cena was still in training camp!

Cena_mark - 2016-05-25

Sure he's been wrestling longer, but Cena has reached success beyond Jeff Harvey's dreams.

EvilHomer - 2016-05-25

Define "success". Cena's a suit and he's good at doing whatever Vince tells him, but on the other hand, Cena will never be wrestling at the GotJ.

Prickly Pete - 2016-05-24

For me, the music this year is totally not my tastes. Last year was nearly flawless, and just about everybody I like this year is someone I have already seen there before (Tech N9ne, Rittz, Hopsin, Kottonmouth Kings, a few others). But it doesn't matter. The fun part is just being there, it doesn't really matter who is playing. And the "seminars" as they call them (which are really just panels. Seminar is a weird word) are the more important to me than the music, to be honest. Getting to ask the artists questions and hearing all the biggest news for the first time. Plus, a new EP from a never-before-seen Psychopathic artist?? That's huge. But everyone knows that the atomic bomb this year is the performance of the Wizard Of The Hood album. Also, it was a classy move to invite Lex The Hex Master. He's the new artist that Twiztid signed after leaving Psychopathic, and his gimmick is so incredibly close Psychopathic's own Big Hoodoo that people wondered how ICP felt about that. But no Psychopathic Rydas performance?? Must be one of the "mystery performances" they alluded to. I could go on! It's no surprise that I'd have opinions.

jangbones - 2016-05-24

what happened to Sugar Slam?

Prickly Pete - 2016-05-24

D-d-d-d-divorce! Good question. Yup, it's true, her and Violent J split up a few months ago. Keen observation.

jangbones - 2016-05-24

I am a Sugar Slam historian.

TheyUsedDarkForces - 2016-05-25

Will there ever be another year without a GOTJ infomercial? It's turned into something I hope to see around this time of year and I don't know how to feel about that.

memedumpster - 2016-05-25

I am a million times more likely to go to one of these than Burning Man.

crasspm - 2016-05-25

Agreed. Juggles are bottom feeding garbage people, but they beat rich white kids on drugs hands down.

crasspm - 2016-05-25

Juggles. Juggalos. Will this site always be a tribute to web 1.0?

The Mothership - 2016-05-25

Actual spirits of the dead will be emerging from the dirt!

Also, GWAR. Also Bone Thugs!

This ad for the gathering is the best yet, they are actually taking shit seriously. I almost want to go now.

memedumpster - 2016-05-25

With 100% more 90's!

Cena_mark - 2016-05-25

Bone Thugs are the reason why I'm not a lurker here. I was lurking here for a while, but finally had to sign in and speak up when people were mocking the Crossroads music video.

EvilHomer - 2016-05-25

Oh shit, really? GWAR's there?!

The Mothership - 2017-07-01

Also the PSYCHOPATHIC AUCTION.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2016-05-25

Except for the juggalos, the Gathering of the Juggalos sounds amazing!

I'm only ten minutes in, but so far this is smart comedy, that gets the details right. My favorite part is the stupid blank expression Bootyballs wears on the cover of "Booty Balls Secretaries Volume 3". (8:08)

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2016-05-26

It's that time again boys!
