I saw this title and immediately thought "Well this was one of the best battles ever commit to a visual medium that was universally beloved by critics and audiences, so of course PoETV will say it was stupid and childish."

I don't know about the second part, but it *was* one of the most amazing battles I've ever seen put to film.

Seriously, I was truly amazed while watching it. Never seen anything like it.

Well I mean there was some hilarious hand-wringing and pearl clutching by people who were upset that watching Jon Snow pound Ramsay Bolton's fucking face into the mud was perceived as "awesome" and cathartic" and "a great ending" because watching a bad guy get punched makes us No Better Than Him. I mean sure, Ramsay Bolton was the evilest TV character ever, but is seeing a good guy punch his face any different???

Maybe instead Jon Snow should've just hed up a mirror and asked "WHO IS THE REAL MONSTER, VIEWER!?!?!"

HBO is really good at making shows that start out strong and deteriorate over time. The only exceptions I can think of are True Detective and Deadwood. True Detective because they put a bullet in its head in the span of a single season and Deadwood because they cancelled it before they could ruin it.

It's lame. It's not wrestling or a cartoon so it's not worth my time.

Don't be like that, Cena! Loras had so many on-screen romps, it was almost like wrestling!

Season 2 of True Detective was borderline self parody. I enjoyed it but I wouldn't necessarily call it "good."

Apparently a comprehensive, last minute rewrite because of marketing concerns was a big part of the problem.

The only reason Deadwood didn't degrade over time is that HBO straight up cancelled it without advance notice.



I think you're underestimating HBO's ability to fuck up.

I think you should give it a chance, Cena. The Hound and The Mountain are basically Attitude Era pro-wrestlers, Arya Stark is like a grimdark Rainbow Dash, and Jon Snow almost shares the same first name as John Cena.

Really, what more could you want?
