I don't think you need to worry, I know a guy like this. He's rich, is a shameless poverty tourist, and believes aliens/nazis live on the moon to work with the government to mind control us. He isn't in complete hiding, he likes to disobey signs (no really that's his thing) and that requires going outside. I don't think it's something that's done to you from the outside, unless it's just straight up lead in the water.

Well, imagine lying in your bed trying to sleep, and you feel a "zap of pain" in your side, which you believe is someone shooting an ultrasonic ray of some sort through your bedroom window. That is what drives people to go off the deep end. At the nursing home in our work, there is a lady who believes that a gang of perps living in the trailer park next door are shooting subsonic energy blasts nto her room. Peculiarly enough, 2 of her roommates ended up dying, which fueled her paranoia.

Well, our society has some programs for the disabled, whether mentally or physical. If you're intelligent but down on your luck (or your disability doesn't fall into one of our recognized categories), you're SOL.

As an older friend of mine is finding out, it's very easy to fall through the cracks, but if you happen to get caught by one of our meager public programs, you can struggle along reasonably well. She has early onset (and very rapid onset) Parkinson's, and she's trying like hell to get on disability. It's basically a race against time, and if she loses that race, she may become homeless... which, oddly enough, makes it even harder to get into the government programs.

Our society's priorities & social safety nets are kinda fucked.

The same mindset that allowed our social safety and priorities to be fucked up is the same mindset that allows this person to ride out what ever competency he has attained until he runs out of steam, does himself in and falls deeper into the lack of emotional awareness that he has.

Get up, dust yourself off, no time for stragglers, move or be ran over. If you're not a winner, then you're a loser and only losers do stupid, bad and/or dumb things. Don't think because that takes time and time is money and money is self sufficiency. Don't lose your individuality because you want take a second around you. Cold War is coming and we need your help to follow through on our business strategy

Also, I'm certain someone will think what I said was pretentious other than Gmork, so I will gladly nip that before it grows. My father was raised on a farm and grew up in a situation where he had to maintain that farm all by himself to take care of his family. Just cut out that last bit about capitalism/joining the workforce and you get a good glimpse of what it's like being raised by someone who is mainly ignorant but extremely hardened.

I am convinced beyond doubt that the person in this video has a sanity on par with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, with an admitted possibility that this person's lack of immediate violence reactions actually makes them more sane.

All anyone who is broken, crazed out, and lost needs for pure clean burning sanity is a socially acceptable enemy. This person's only social downfall is vagueness.

I've often ran into people who discuss philosophy who have crept so far up their ass that they're more concerned about the logic existing than any practical application.

I believe the statement you just gave does a much more relevant job of portraying good vs evil than it should. I'm running through my head wondering how it could be misinterpreted and turned into a freak show of cascading perpetual whiny mess with out it being the fault of the reader and so far I'm liking it.
