It would be apathy and banal greed that kills us all.

Eat more chicken and turn off the lights when exiting a room, got it.

So far I have learned that the hair and beard style I had when I was 16 and didn't know any better is apparently a thing now.

But I work next to an art school so I already knew that.

So far this is just a documentary about DiCaprio.

I learned that success in show business has a lot to do with who your parents are, but I already knew that.

OK, skip to 8:45 if you don't care about Leonardo's childhood.

Also it blows my mind that DiCaprio apparently didn't know about global warming until the 2000s? It wasn't exactly a big secret, people hve been talking about it since what, the 50s? And in earnest since the 80s conservatively, really it was more like the late 60s when the environmental movement really picked up but it didn't get mainstream attention until the 80s.

I mean, I learned a bit about it in grade school and my school was not the best.

I really don't understand how someone who lived in a coastal city could have gotten through the 90s without even hearing of it but I guess I don't hang out with actors so I'm probably giving them too much credit.

The election year stuff is good and the climate stuff is fine, it's just always shocking to me that anyone doesn't know all of this yet.

Old_Zircon - 2016-11-06

Gets into some very questionable techno-utopian business about an hour in.

Old_Zircon - 2016-11-06

And some very dubious assertions about the degree to which the public can influence politicians.

Old_Zircon - 2016-11-06

Final verdict - solid agitprop with a fundamentally OK agenda if a bit of an unrealistic degree of optimism.

Zeitgeist : An Inconvenient Self-Promotion, starring Block of Wood with Leonardo DiCaprio's Face Glued To It, brought to you by NatCorp, "a post-education system of flashing lights and loud noises(TM)."
