Trump did the exact same thing. He kept citing polls every single time he talked until the last month when he was absolutely failing in the polls, then it was "Oh, I don't care about the polls, they don't mean anything."

The most shocking part of this is that I was infuriated by one of my FB friends' avatars, so I tried to hunt it down, got sucked into FB's system, saw my feed for the first time since the election (or in months, for that matter), and Jesus fucking Christ.
