In the comics, Mallah was more than just a talking french ape. He was also in one of the first gay relationships ever depicted in comics. His boyfriend was a talking brain in a jar. REPRESENTATION!

That was Morrison's classic run. And that is a classic, but these are obviously a take on the 60s comics.

Personally, I would love for there to be an animated series as goofy as Morrison's run focusing on Morrison's run. How would kids react to Rebus or Danny the Street? They did my wee head in as a kid.

That's true, but everything interesting ever done with the Doom Patrol ultimately refers back to the wonderful 60's comics, including Morrison's run.
