The slurping into the mic and that laugh. Perfect.

StanleyPain - 2017-01-06

I love how much these guys are trolling the fuck out of SW fans.

Bootymarch - 2017-01-06

5 stars for getting me to watch a fat bearded man try to fake enthusiasm over a tote bag with the transformers logo on it.

Two Jar Slave - 2017-01-06

The more bitter these frauds get, the more I like them.

kingarthur - 2017-01-06

This is glorious. Even the break of kayfabe at the end.

Aress - 2017-01-06

Me personally - I think the mise en scene of this video is excellent. Me personally.

somedongus - 2017-01-06

Wait, so did Disney PR actually offer free advance tix to these dudes in exchange for a certified glowing review? Had they ever watched a single second of these guy's output? I mean, I know you don't have to be smart to be a PR flack but I don't get how actively stupid people can have highly paid jobs like that. Man, I'm so tired of all these Star Wars!

StanleyPain - 2017-01-06

I think it's more a parody of "geek culture" podcast/YouTube celebrity shitheads who constantly get free merch and/or advance tickets and then claim to have totally unbiased opinions.
If Disney DID offer RLM some kind of advance screening tickets or something, it was probably done by some PR/marketing idiot who has never even watched an RLM video, they just look at the view counts.

Maggot Brain - 2017-01-06

Over the holidays I had the chance to talk to my cousin who's "in the biz" and I got a good idea as to why tent pole movies just aren't that good anymore, Placation. According to him "I never want to say a movie is bad because everyone who works on these things knows how hard they are to make and you don't want to hurt peoples feelings."

SolRo - 2017-01-06

The only thing more tiring than new star wars super fans are old star wars super fans who think the new movies pissed in their cereal and must tell the whole world the horrible truth that only they seem to see.

15th - 2017-01-06

I'm starting to think they like the abuse.

Gmork - 2017-01-06

They aren't super fans. You're dumb.

SolRo - 2017-01-06

they are so.

see any of their SW reviews of any non original trilogy movie and you can just see them furiously circle-jerking each other about how awesome the original movies are and how no other movie ever will compare to the original star wars.

Two Jar Slave - 2017-01-06

I agree with SolRo, who is telling it like it is about something beyond unimportant.

Bootymarch - 2017-01-06

Just like how people were so quick to spout rhetoric and miss the point of their ghostbusters video being about marketing spin, you're missing the point here. I don't think either Rich or Jay give a flying fuck about Star Wars at this point, and Mike is an alcoholic who might die of cirrhosis in 10 years.

SolRo - 2017-01-07

Rich definitely obsesses about star wars, as does mike. Jay can be talked down from the SW pulpit occasionally, but he still obsesses about it often enough.

Gmork - 2017-01-07

They've always, always shown a healthy disdain for the exact kind of fanboyism you're talking about. They hold the original trilogy as better movies than the prequels/etc, but I've never seen them act as if it was the pinnacle of moviemaking, or laud aspects of it unjustly. If anything, they're some of the only reviewers I've heard talk about how the fans blow elements of the movies out of proportion because of some perceived notion of how "badass" something is. They don't jizz themselves over boba fett, or AT-STs, or any of that nonsense. I'm interested to know just what exactly they're doing that qualifies them as "super fans".

They're movie buffs. Star wars is a big franchise. They know things about it and appreciate it's positive qualities, but.. super fans? I just don't see it.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2017-01-07

You don't have to be a fanboy to notice Star Wars is sorta kinda the biggest intellectual property on planet earth and that the original films are undeniably some of the most significant ever made.

Centennial Ostrich - 2017-01-06

The "Fuck You" to Loot Crate put a gigantic smile on my face and I lost it at the same time Rich Evans did.

Rafiki - 2017-01-07

I just went to lootcrate.com for the first time, and the first thing I saw was a big banner picture announcing they now have t-shirts in 4X and 5X sizes. :D

SolRo - 2017-01-06

Also, I'm pretty sure these guys know the phrase "brevity is the soul of wit" yet still turned "paid reviews suck lol" and "rogue one sucks lol" into a 15 minute "joke".

Hooker - 2017-01-07

Jeez. This really hit a nerve, huh?

bawbag - 2017-01-07

I actually thought the length was just right on this one, where HITB can drag on sometimes.

SolRo - 2017-01-07

I didn't even watch more than 30 seconds of it.

star wars/nerd culture deconstruction as a joke has gotten so damn boring and tedious I turn it off soon as I recognize it. I have no idea how you can tolerate it.

Gmork - 2017-01-07

Still having a soul helps.

Hazelnut - 2017-01-07

Everything SolRo writes is just quivering with half-repressed fury. He's basically Pat from Achewood.

somedongus - 2017-01-07

You didn't even watch the whole thing and you have commented half a dozen times? Sheesh what a weirdo.

Nominal - 2020-11-14

I laughed at SolRo's hallucinated outrage at this video more than the actual video at this point.

TheInternetisFullofGenitals - 2022-07-12

Five stars to offset SolRo's idiocy.
