Killer Joe - 2017-03-13

The art is actually pretty charming and neat!
Then people start talking.
Then I remember "It's the Flintstones, but instead of being cavemen everyone likes football!"
Then I hear the laugh track.
Then I think about how far the art quality would drop if H.B. ever 'animated' it.
So I muted it and laughed about how thirsty the housewives looked when the giant brother came by.

The Barney substitute's wife gets introduced looking like she wants to kill herself. Fun times!

Sexy Duck Cop - 2017-03-13

I just learned about calling people "thirsty" like two days ago and I'm already sick of it.

cognitivedissonance - 2017-03-13

Nighttrain deserves his own show. I love Nighttrain.

Xenocide - 2017-03-13

I am completely in favor of a cartoon about bum wine.

Redford - 2017-03-13

Somehow nighttrain seems like to be the island of sanity within this show.

Also, he's great with kids.

Xenocide - 2017-03-13

He's also great with bored housewives who want to do something beside listen to their husbands make football puns. Take a ride on the Night Train, ladies! *Soft R&B music starts playing out of nowhere*

Having exhausted wacky historical periods to shoehorn their generic sitcom template into, Hanna Barbera moved on to themes.

"Okay, get this: It's The Honeymooners, but everything in the entire world is football. The guy's house is shaped like a football stadium. His friend drives a football-shaped car. He named his dog after football, and also his child."

"Does the protagonist have some sort of mental disorder."

"No, see, that's considered normal in their world. Food is football. Trees are football. The president is just a football sitting on a table. Children are not born, they hatch from footballs. It's beautiful. This will run two hundred episodes, easy."

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2017-03-13

"What about having a wacky sissy neighbor? I'm thinking Paul Lynde."

"I guess. I mean, can he shove a football up his ass?"

"Can he!"

Xenocide - 2017-03-13

*Paul Lynde pops out of a nearby closet*

Lynde: I've practically been auditioning for this role every Friday night!

*Studio audience laughs, Paul hops back inside closet*

cognitivedissonance - 2017-03-13

I don't think he ever was in the closet.

Xenocide - 2017-03-13

PAUL LYNDE FUN FACT: During the wrap party for Bye Bye Birdie, all the male actors were taking turns giving toasts to Ann Margaret, as this was her first starring role. They predicted that this movie would be a breakout role for her and kept telling her that she was incredibly talented and destined for stardom.

When it was Paul's turn to speak, all he did was shrug and say, "Well I guess I'm the only one here who doesn't want to fuck Ann Margaret."

chumbucket - 2017-03-13

Haha 70's! Men and women are so hilariously different!!

Maggot Brain - 2017-03-13

Sooooooooo...... He's a 40 year old college student?

Seven Arts/H8 Red - 2017-03-13

Somehow, this show (and animatic) still contains more dignity than Fish Police and Family Dog.
