Quad9Damage The thing about Goku is he's a manchild who will save the galaxy as long as he gets to punch something, which is one of the few things FUNimation got right in their dub. Making him sound like Captain Superpatriot is kinda missing the point.
SolRo Team Four Star just had their videos copyright claimed on youtube /sad
Xenocide Japanese Goku is pushing fifty now but he still has the exact same high-pitched voice he did when the character was first introduced as a ten year old. Which actually really works for the immature bastard.
Goku has only been voiced by one person for the past 32 years: an incredibly enthusiastic grandmother who is now 80 years old and can still do anime screams with the best of them.
Quad9Damage Piccolo is called 'Piccolo' because in the original Dragon Ball, Piccolo's dad and his henchmen were named after instruments. There was Piccolo Daimao but also Tangerine, Drum, etc. But maybe the UK didn't get all of Dragon Ball like we didn't get it until later, and as TFS once quipped, "Nobody watched Dragon Ball."
