The thing with Ville Valo was interesting to me. I remember being impressionable, around 21, 22, and having a friend that I really admired and tried to emulate in a lot of ways. I don't know what it was. I don't think I consciously set out to be this other guy's clone, but his influence very much warped my personality during the time I knew him.
I'm grateful that my friend recognized what was going on, saw it as a bad thing, and had the courage to tell me "Stop swinging off my nuts and get your own life."
You can see Bam doing something very similar here. They got matching tattoos. He was beyond enthralled.
