Oh god recording bullshit. I did some bass for a band and first they turned the bass way down, I tried to explain that lower frequencies have to be louder because human hearing range blah blah to no avail.
Then they show up with a new song they wrote in the truck on the way over and I'm supposed to play this bass line they didn't have time to come up with. So I come up with something that sounds pretty good time constraints considered and start playing it and they record it and go "yup that's a good take" and I'm like "wait wait jesus that was shit, let me redo a couple takes" but nope, they wanted to go with it.
The producer just ended up mixing down the bits where I messed up so the bass kind of fades in and out through the whole song and it sounds stupid.
But hey, at least I didn't get paid.

Old_Zircon - 2017-09-17 It couldn't have been worse than the bass mix of that second MC-5 record, though.Literally sounds like you're listening on a set of 3 way speakers with the woofers disconnected.

kingofthenothing - 2017-09-19 ^ There are a couple okay bass mixes out there, but then people complain that they still can't hear the bass at all.
