You could have a band composed entirely of hologram you's playing different instruments like Bubbles.

Plus you could disappoint 7 groupies all at the same time instead of just three!

Oscar Wildcat - 2017-11-02

Sounds to me like a peerless victory for the roadies.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2017-11-04

Unemployment?

Old_Zircon - 2017-11-02

Calling these "holograms" is, of course, a complete farce designed to make people think they're seeing something high tech and futuristic instead of the Pepper's Ghost effect that has been around since at least the late 16th century.

memedumpster - 2017-11-02

This is how you get idiots to pay stadium prices to listen to an mp3.
Sort of like how theaters get you to pay stadium prices to watch an mp4.

Old_Zircon - 2017-11-02

Trying to remember the last time i went to a first-run theater. 2011 maybe? That seems to recent though, I think the last new movie I saw in a theater was The Dark Knight and that was under duress. It was really, really bad, too.

memedumpster - 2017-11-02

I only go to movies in the theater when someone invites me, so it's not hard to imagine that means never.

I think Ender's Game was the last theater trip I took.

Oscar Wildcat - 2017-11-03

Remarkably, 2011 was the last time I saw a theatrical release as well. It was "A Dangerous Method", the Chronenberg piece about Freud and Jung. It was kind of formal, but definitely had it's moments in the sun. It was like a Kaiju film pitting these two giants in psychology against each other, mano a mano. See Freud insufflate an Alps sized pile of cocaine hydrochloride. Hear Jung berate his mistress as he flails her with a cat o nine tales. Cringe in horror as Freud drops trou and takes an enormous shit of Jungs notions of synchronicity.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2017-11-03

I'm a schmuck who still goes to the movies at least once a month. I'm never the one paying for it though.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2017-11-05

I like superhero movies, so I like to see them on the big screen in 3D. I paid to see Batman V Superman, Ghostbusters, Captain America Civil War, Dr. Strange, Avengers, Wonder Woman.

I feel like I've waited my whole life for the current bumper crop of Superhero movies. Even the flawed DC movies are, in my opinion, really fun. The extended Batman V Superman is way better than the theatrical version, and counting home video, I've seen Suicide Squad 4 times. And some of those Marvel movies are damn near perfect.

But TV is what's really happening. Since the seventies, TV has been getting better and better, and movies in general have been getting worse and worse. Even a movie that I want to see, unless it's about superheroes, I'll wait for it to come to Google Play.

Maggot Brain - 2017-11-03

They couldn't rip the vocal from a better performance?

garcet71283 - 2017-11-03

They could, but then it wouldn't be convincing :|

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2017-11-03

I once though this would be a great way to see a Roger Waters era Pink Floyd and The Who with Kieth Moon. Not anymore.

chumbucket - 2017-11-03

The mic to the audience part: "I don't hear ya"...good lord.
