This is where we are as a society - the notion that any argument is not settled over a rational discussion of the issues and facts at hand, but how often and how frequent one can 'out-meme' one another.
This grownup has the mindset of a pre-teen or typical kid from 4chan. And what's sad is they flood any topic up for debate with memes, which tend to shut down all discussion, and they don't really care about changing their minds or civil discourse. He has no self-awareness, or shame, and sadly I have encountered many people like this online.
My only course of action has been to immediately bail and block, and his son should have stood up and blocked him from his own facebook account as soon as he showed signs of not being able to behave himself.
And in the end, arguing with these people is like playing chess with a pigeon. They knock over all of the pieces, shit on the board, then fly away thinking they've won.
Sadly, this is how they have convinced the low-information voter, and we have seen dire consequences because of it.
