I've been peripherally aware of Rip Taylor for decades, and, over that time, it slowly dawned on me that he was an iconic figure that I kind of admired. I suppose that some considered him a gay icon. I never really bothered to look up his personal life until yesterday, so I never knew for sure. You don't want to assume anything, right?

Here's what I really didn't get before I saw this clip: he could be really FUNNY. I mean, this is really hilarious, right? It never really occurred to me.
