This lady has been dunked deep in the Qanon, Facebook, Yandex ooze of modernity.

"Has the Republican party completely lost its fucking mind?"
No. A great majority of the rank and file Republican voters have been like this for decades. Vince Foster was 1993.
In 2016, Hillary was a juggernaut and the GOP did not have anyone that wanted to run against her. So Trump took advantage, played more directly to the racist lunatics that have always been the heart and soul of the party, and pulled off the upset.
Once he got in office, he just exposed the lunacy, gave permission to them to let it all hang out. Now they are emboldened and entrenched. Qanon and the next equally batshit conspiracies are the near future of the party now. This shit will only get more prominent and more intense for a decade or more, no matter who wins in 2020.
I have just recently learned of the southern strategy so that scans
Here’s hoping ‘exposes the lunacy’ drags the Republican party down to oblivion. Then the moderate and socialist wings of the Democrats can split apart and we can have a meaningful two party system.
One challenge at a time, of course.
There's no such thing as a meaningful two party system, but it would be an improvement at least.
Remember all the declarations in 2008 that Republicans were finished as a national party? Because surely no one would ever vote for them after the disaster of W?

Hopefully she and everyone like her catch covid and die.
Again, people said the same after W in 2008. Doesn't matter how far Trump "drags down" the party next week. People will fall asleep again for the 2022 midterms and we'll be right back on track for a re-re-resurgent Republican party.
A competent suit doesn't need to be sitting in the Oval Office, just competent fascist appointees. I guess the more accurate thing to say would be thank god William Barr only came on so late in Trump's term rather than at the beginning.
And this time we won't even get a 2 year respite, now that all the courts are stacked with Trump appointees bent on finally bringing about Gilead.
You might be right, Nominal. But this time it feels different, for a couple reasons:
* Bush & co. subverted American institutions, while Trump has directly denigrated & destroyed them. That's much more of a wake-up call.
* Because Trump has hollowed out and/or destroyed so many institutions, folks literally will be unable to go back to "business as usual" after the Trump presidency. We'll need to recreate many of the institutions that we had taken for granted. That precludes people going back to sleep.
* The Black Lives Matter movement seems to have genuinely penetrated the American consciousness to a degree that Occupy Wallstreet never achieved. I'm hopeful that that increased awareness will continue after the Trump presidency.
* The GOP party as a whole has shown their true colors during the Trump presidency. During Dubya's administration, the GOP was able to get away with a lot of bullshit mumbling & mealy-mouthed "I support democracy & freedom" pablum. Trump, however, has forced pretty much all GOP politicians to give him their full-throated support. I don't see how current GOP politicians can transition "Fuck democracy! Fuck immigrants!" to an opposition party in a (dysfunctional) democracy.
*shrug* I dunno... nothing is certain. But I don't think I'm engaging in wishful thinking.
I kind of think that the Qanon GOP will thrive as an opposition party. They get to seethe about "the elites" without actually having to rule.
Combined with America having the memory of a goldfish and the hollowing out of journalism, I definitely think they have a chance of turning things around if the Democrats don't deliver on concrete improvements to people's lives.

Someone with more video knowledge than I please answer this: why did everyone decide that zooming and splitting the video into distracting sidebars was the better alternative to simple black bar pillarboxing?
It makes it look like you have a full landscape video
It really doesn't though. It still looks like a portrait aspect video, just with malfunctioning horizontal artifacts.
Reminds me of what a flattened fisheye lens would look like.
Probably has something to do with Youtube thumbnails and engagement rates.
Just like how every Youtube video has a godawful ugly thumbnail these days, with someone making a goofy face and some clickbaity text with all of the adjectives CAPITALIZED, because doing that is pretty well proven to increase your view count a fair amount.
