'After his departure from FAZ in 2003, Ulfkotte became known for his conspiracy theories, for instance claiming on his Kopp Verlag blog that Barack Obama ordered the burning of bibles, that African sportsmen would "slaughter whites" if allowed into Germany, or that Muslims were waging "fecal jihad" against Europe.'

One shouldn't take Wikipedia at face value -- it could have been hacked by the brainwashers -- but I'm not sure I'm ready to take Udo here at face value either.

Also please make "fecal jihad" one of the tags.

Yes, Ulfkotte was anything but a "mainstream journalist". Depending on how you look at it, he descended into the far right/conspiracy-spectrum after his time at the FAZ. "regenbogentreff", the event where this video was shot, is a gathering of conspiracy believers/ esoterics. Think UFO-believers and the like.

That is not to say the story he told in the video is false, however.

War photographers have always done this, see Errol Morris's forensic analysis of photographers during the Crimean War.

His book, "Believing is Seeing" is a great read on this.

That said, this guy was a naive, far-right-almost-Neo-Nazi kook.
