His Astronomy Crash Course (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rHUDWjR5gg&ab_channel=CrashCours e) was really excellent. Both my wife (who knows absolutely nothing about astronomy) and myself (who knows a little) found the series fascinating.
The events of January 6 have shown that conspiracies will be the death of the US. The fact that people can't even consider the black marks on the snow is soot from the lighter is mind boggling.
I'm honestly less worried about people making themselves look very silly about snow, rainbows, chemtrails, flat Earth and so on. Surely there will always be nuts.
I worry more when a user on this site pushes conspiracy theories about Soros and the Rothschilds, or suggests anti-Semitism is a hoax pushed by "Zionist shills" to stifle criticism of finance.
I worry very VERY much when Justice Clarence Thomas starts repeating Trump's election fraud lies.
That's all part of the conspiracy mindset. The same people who believe the inane conspiracies are more likely to believe the dangerous bigoted conspiracies. Crank magnetism. Conspiracy nut is a mindset where you'll hold mainstream science and news with skepticism, but then take in conspiracy bullshit without question.
