I think San Diego had the only normal, unthemed, store and I visited quite often back in the day.

The one in Carlsbad had a crazy Atlantis theme with huge fish tanks full of tropical fish (which I’m guessing will likely be killed if no one was lined up to adopt them all)

The stores in the PNW were not themed, and the shelves were mostly empty starting like ten years ago.
