There was an episode of the original "Star Trek" where these aliens wanted to understand the concept of good & evil so it teamed Kirk & Spock with Abraham Lincoln and a historical vulcan dude against 4 evil people from history and made them fight. To incentivize Kirk & Spock, the aliens threatened to destroy the Enterprise killing everyone aboard if they lost or refused to fight.

In the end, the good guys won but the alien was confused. It said it saw no difference between good & evil. Both sides used the same methods and achieved the same ends.

So Kirk asked the alien what it had offered the bad guys if they had won. The alien said it had offered them power.

Dedication like doing canvassing/voter turnout for years is much more effective at changing government, especially in a country that has such low voter turnout.

Maybe some mass movements will be need to stop republican voter suppression efforts, but I don’t think the general American public responds well to scenes of violence (in terms of building support for your cause)

What the hell are you talking about? The last four years have been filled with protests, demonstrations, fights with cops. Not to mention the millions more people who turned out to vote against the president than for him.

The rich and powerful don't give up money just because we vote that they should.

The insurrection of January 6, 2021 failed because they represented a tiny minority of people.

But things like raising the minimum wage, Medicare for All & cancelling student debt have widespread support, even among conservative voters.

Gandhi didn't win India's freedom with passive resistance. There was a shit-ton of violence at the same time that made India not worth the trouble to hold on to. The passive resistance only helped because there were other more powerful nations able to shame Britain into relinquishing sovereignty of foreign soil.

This is our native soil and there's nobody big and powerful enough to shame the US into doing the right thing.
