A year ago, Oliver was suffering from a bad dental infection. He was terribly skinny and weak. It cost me a thousand dollars, all of my covid money, to get his tiny teeth removed, every last one.

Expensive, yes, but his recovery was amazing. His weight increased by about 50 per cent, his fur grew in thicker and softer, he became affectionate and playful. Sometimes he comes to me with his little ball in his mouth, for me to throw, and for him to chase. Maybe not the best thousand dollars I ever spent, but it feels that way.

So this year I spent my final covid money on his.brother, from the same mother, who had even more severe Dental problems. He's also doing well. Kiara is a REAL character! Don't get me started.

I've paid 350 dollars to have a pet put down. 1000 for a complete recovery is a total no brainer.

My experience with dental infections is that they can be expensive to treat, but they are highly treatable. A dental infection can affect behavior, it can keep them from eating, so they get scarey-skinny. It can keep them from grooming.

If your cat has cancer, you're looking at a lot of money for an unsure outcome. But if its a dental problem, it may be a lot of money if surgery is needed, but my experience strongly ggests good outcomes, barring bad reactions to the anesthesia. Kiara is his old self again. Oliver, the tabby in the video, has never been the happy, healthy cat he is now.
