I haven't kept up with CWC in a while. It just got sad and boring. I started to fall into the 'just leave her alone' camp. There's some definite evil going on here. While Christine always has long had a weird thing going on with her mother, I feel that trolls nudged her towards this. Just about every zany thing she's done in the last 15 years has been troll-influenced. This giggly girl on the phone is most certainly encouraging and enabling this. The CWCKI is down. I don't know if it's just from extra traffic or the fear of being connected to such a crime.

There were highs and lows to following Chris, and it was easy to pity Chris as some kind of victim a lot of the times. One of the incidents that stood out was when she pepper sprayed a Gamestop employee in full Karen fashion. I never considered her a victim anymore after that, having worked retail and understanding full well how the general public demeans service workers. Not long after Chris was enjoying the benefits of trans and Brony acceptance and started having virtuous supporters invite her on trips to make Youtube content. At that point I kind of felt like Chris was experiencing a somewhat happy ending after all she'd been through. Still, nobody really wanted to fuck him/her. That brings us to now, and the victim is absolutely, positively not Chris.

A few years ago, I used to joke about the existential Hell of being, like, 80 and spending your final years knowing your legacy was Chris Chan and your declining years were spent hearing all about Sonichu and his erotic adventures.

This is a serious business, and I have no faith in this or any other internet community to tease out the truth, and unless I am called to serve on Chris's jury, I don't need to know the truth just yet. I'm just going to assume that the authorities have been alerted, and mind my own business. There is no good to be done, and much potential harm, from passing around second hand information from anonymous internet posters.

I felt confident she was finding her way when she first began to embrace her new identity. She seemed the most active around the time and was doing a decent job at avoiding trolls for a while. The pepper spray incident seemed to derail that progress.
