I want to make it clear I five starred this because Bill made me laugh. I did not think that was possible.

I want to make it clear that I have not watched this video and have no opinion about the Olympics or Bill Maher.

When asked about his behavior in a 1994 interview, he laughed about it.

And it's not that straight actors aren't allowed to play gay characters, it's that there are a lot of really good gay actors who aren't allowed to play gay or straight characters.

"Woke" originated on black Twitter. It's an African-American expression. I'm pretty close to 100 per cent sure that anyone who follows white nationalist sites knows this, and when Republicans use "woke" in that threatening, condescending way, it's a racist dogwhistle. Believe it.

My friend Cynthia loved Bill Maher, and we'd watch him every week. I used to defend him. A few weeks ago, a friend defended him to me in almost exactly the same terms I used to use: Sometimes he's right. Sometimes he's wrong. That's the whole point of Bill Maher.

Well, I'm just not into that any more. I don't know if he's really gotten worse, or certain things are less funny in the post-trump (possibly also pre-trump) Era. Bad ideas have been getting more traction than good ideas.

I'm trying to think of someone who has a commentary show but is more irrelevant than Maher and I'm failing to do so. Who the hell gives a damn about what this former DC Cab cast member thinks about anything?
