There's really an essay to be written about how fascists see 40k as some sort of ideal, but it's very clearly a parable about how xenophobia and violence for their own sake are culturally suicidal.

I'm guessing Games Workshop got the hint that the (subtle as a brick) satire of their brand was lost, and MAGA cultists were unironically embracing the lore of the Imperium (even though they were obviously more in line with Chaos cultists trying to storm the capital in a coup attempt, NURGLE cultists specifically).
So now the lore has a founding father coming back to life, admonishing the ruling class for turning everything into a fascist nightmare, outsmarts a MAGA coup, and purges all the politicians responsible for it.

Pillager - 2021-08-05 Nah, I think GDW wants to sell out to Disney or some other outfit.

ashtar. - 2021-08-05 I think that it's not that they don't get the satire, it's that they don't see personal and social suicide in the service of a pointless cause as a bad thing, so long as the aesthetics are right. That's kind of fascists' whole thing, really.
But, yeah, I'm sure they're itching to capitalize on that IP, given how all major media is just churning out instances of franchises. Personally, I can't wait for "Guilliman," the musical from Lin Manuel Miranda.
