I thought she put this controversy behind her. This is what the right wants, for the "woke" to devour each other. She apologized and learned from the mistake. I guess she was still being swarmed by hate messages. If anything I'm sure much of the people trying to cancel her are alt-right shitheads posing as SJW types.

Her essay on the shitstorm is one of the best things I've ever seen on YouTube, not only as a detailed examination of the toxic Avengers of Twitter, but as a discussion of racism in America. Ive played it at least a dozen times. She responded perfectly, and if she was personally broken by the experience, that doesn't undercut her masterful analysis. It's peppered throughout with references to Contrapoint's earlier essay on cancel culture, which I also love.. They go together.
It's heartbreaking that she was so broken by the experience, but that only makes "Mask Off" more beautiful and important. She analyzed the abuse in detail, and therefore internalized it. She could have shrugged it off, like she's supposed to.
I hope she'll recover, but I refuse to let this undercut for me that thrilling moment when she looks into the camera and says:
"Fuck every last one of you!"
It may be the greatest fuck you I've ever seen, because of the 90 minutes she'd spent adding intellectual force to the argument.
Lindsay, after that beautiful "FUCK YOU", I'd say that your work here is done. Please take care. We'll be fine, and if we want to know what you're up to in the future, we can always bite the bullet, and read a goddam book for a change.
