As a Winnipeger, it's not that we are unobservant it's just that we don't care anymore. This kind of shit (no pun intended) goes on all the time. We have a very high native population with the vast majority unemployed and living off welfare. Anyone who says anything bad about an aboriginal is automatically branded a racist by the native population.

So we choose to let them live their lives the way they want. Whether it's living off welfare cheques and usually so high and or drunk they do no harm, or actually making something of themselves and contributing to society.
