"These ants are well-known in Australia for their aggressive behavior and powerful stings. These large, alert ants have characteristic large eyes and long, slender mandibles and they have superior vision, able to track and even follow intruders from a distance of 1 meter." They're poisonous and will jump several inches to get to you when they attack.

The spider itself is probably the worlds deadliest, large and unusually aggressive, its inch long fangs can pierce your shoe to inject neurotoxins.

Terrific use of the Caligula opening theme.

manfred - 2007-11-25

The score is actually "Dance of the Knights" from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet.

cognitivedissonance - 2007-11-25

And the opening theme to Caligula.

manfred - 2007-11-25

Most people don't refer to "Ride of the Valkyries" as "Helicopter theme from Apocalypse Now"

EvilHomer - 2007-11-25

I do. I can't tell you how many symphony concerts I've been thrown out of because I wouldn't stop making helicopter and explosion noises.

WHUPWHUPWHUPWHUP BOOM BOOOOOM KABOOOOOOOOM

Outstanding, EvilHomer, outstanding.
Getcha a case of beer for that.

Mayberry Pancakes - 2007-11-26

I know plenty of people who refer to the Ride of the Valkyries as "the 'kill the wabbit' song".

Now I want a compilation of other natural horrors from the animal/insect kingdom set to classical music (Holst, Mussorgsky, Dvorak, etc).

TrafficCone - 2007-11-26

"Terrific use of the Caligula opening theme."

This is perfectly correct to say. He is letting the OP know that he "got the joke" of the choice of song. Were he to have said, "Terrific use of "Dance of the Knights" from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet, it would have changed his point entirely.

Sheesh. Editors.

manfred - 2007-11-26

Yes, I was just trying to impress my internet friends.

Midnight Man - 2007-11-25

When are lawmakers going to wake up and pass legislation against these dangerous breeds of ants

Whoever wins, we lose.

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-11-26

SimAnt taught me enough that I was prepared for this video.

Camonk - 2007-11-27

But the spider didn't turn into a bunch of green circles. I guess that's one way that this video isn't very realistic.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2007-11-26

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Dr Dim - 2007-11-26

This is the first time I've seen those ants doing anything other than storming out of their nest, looking for something to bite. I've never seen them carrying stuff, I thought they lived on inner fury alone.

baleen - 2007-11-26

I was bit by one of these ants in Tasmania. It hurt a lot.

PlushJake - 2008-06-20

Fuck I HATE ants!
