Wow. Well done, Montel.

Shit, it felt weird typing that.

mouser - 2008-02-03

Fucken-A

RockBolt - 2008-02-03

Montel talks at length about the troops and Iraq and vainly trying to find out about those that have been killed, then ..."Ok, we are here with Montel talking about a situation going on now with Heath Ledger..."

These Fox guys are like robots that can't even begin to comprehend the point Montel is trying to make. That or they have a Fox News™ chip implanted in their spine that will detonate if they talk about troops being killed in Iraq.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2008-02-03

Do they have earphone mikes? Because they might be getting instructions to direct the conversation the other way.

Xenocide - 2008-02-03

That's pretty much standard operating procedure for live TV. If there's no headphone mikes, there's defiantly a guy just offscreen signaling to them. Most likely someone told them to segue into commercials as fast as possible.

Hugo Gorilla - 2008-02-03

Montel is as much the whore and vulture as the journalists and the media he's pretending to criticize. Fuck him.

fluffy - 2008-02-03

Yeah, I can't help but think of how he's constantly getting Sylvia Browne on his show just for the ratings.

themilkshark - 2008-02-03

I REALLY hope he did this as penance for the Sylvia Browne stuff. I can't imagine he didn't know she's a total fraud.

robotkarateman - 2008-02-03

Montel is a whore. How hypocritical do you have to be to let Sylvia Browne attempt to scam the Hornbeck family, have her proven to be a scammer, and then have her back on your show repeatedly and respond to the criticism with a flippant, "It's just entertainment", and then to have the balls to get on a show like this and blast the news shows for covering Heath Ledger over Iraq?

Mayor Frankie said it best below this comment: Fuck You, Montel.

Xenocide - 2008-02-03

Dead soldiers are one thing, but that man taught us that cowboys can be gay. He was an icon, Montel. AN ICON.

baleen - 2008-02-03

I don't think he was canceled because of this and I think part of his goodbye was this little checkmate. He will have another show.

This is pretty much his strategy to have "a more serious show" sometime after 6pm. That's my guess.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-02-03

For once, I'm actually agreeing with Baleen. This is like when Paris Hilton and Kardashian had their "scandals" and then all of a sudden had tv shows.

Montel's show sucked, so it was going bye-bye, and now he's taking stands and changing his image.

baleen - 2008-02-03

please do not talk to me or about me.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-02-04

No, you cannot be my friend now, Baleen.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-02-03

I agree with Montel that the tv news is totally full of shit, and that most news organizations don't educate us to live in a democracy or about most things that we SHOULD be hearing about, but at the same time they ARE a business, and the idea that they'd do a personality profile on each and every soldier who died is ridiculous, mostly because the majority of Americans don't really give a shit anyway.

Fox News sucks. Montel sucks. Heath Ledger sucks. Lazy, apathetic people suck. That's what I got out of this.

baleen - 2008-02-03

You agree with Montel and the world turns a new leaf.

FISTFULLofSOUL - 2008-02-03

I used to like that song.."This is how we do it"

kingarthur - 2008-02-03

Wow. We inhabit the poe-verse with some cynical, cynical people. That said, you guys may be right.

Billie_J_Buttfuck - 2008-02-03

Wow. I love hearing Montel when he's being coherent.

Enjoy - 2008-02-03

I wonder if Sylvia Browne can tell us what Heath is saying now. Sorry Montel but you can't play the credibility card.

Feyd - 2008-02-03

He was invited on to talk about this subject. Instead of coming on and tsk-tsking and finger-wagging, he could have, say, turned it down. Higher path and all.

Hooker - 2008-02-03

Word. Howard Beale equalled ratings. I think that's the part of Network people tend to not get.

athodyd - 2008-02-03

how dare he use the media as a platform for his opinions

Feyd - 2008-02-20

Man, there's getting your message (message?) across and there's being a bad guest. That's guest as in guest, remember what it means?

Frank Rizzo - 2008-02-03

Fuck Montel and that stupid scam bitch he always has on his show. Whats her name? She claims to talk to dead relatives and montel just FEEDS her victims.

fuck you montel, I had so much respect for you and you ruined it.

cognitivedissonance - 2008-02-03

I wonder how exactly a syndicated afternoon talk show gets cancelled.

kingarthur - 2008-02-03

The FOX affiliates all of a sudden decide not to renew contract.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2008-02-21

I usually agree with Montel, but he never fails to be preachy and self-serving. This is the longest I've seen him go lately without plugging his book.
