I love the powerglove. It's so bad.

sosage - 2008-03-27

Yeah. Well. Keep your power glove to yourself.

Xenocide - 2008-03-27

Remember Captain N? On that cartoon, the Power Glove sat on a pedestal in the center of the royal palace. It could talk, and everyone followed its orders without question, and consulted it in times of trouble. It had Optimus Prime's voice and could open gateways to other dimensions.

I think the implication was the Power Glove was God.

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-03-27

"We need to show how great this Power Glove is! Get me the best Tom Cruise lookalike you can find!"

DMKA - 2008-03-27

I see. Xenu's influence is at it again.

SARS - 2008-03-27

For the record, I own the Power Glove and an 18k gold plated Mortal Kombat pog slammer. Until you've slammed a gold pog in a Power Glove, you haven't accomplished anything.

Big Beef Burritos Supreme - 2008-03-27

A new standard has been set.

coprolalia - 2008-03-27

Hands up: who fell for this as a kid?

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-03-27

I did, but my parents didn't.

Dib - 2008-03-28

I did. We had one of these as a kid, and never once found a game that was enjoyable with it. We also had the Power Pad and R.O.B, and none of them were fun.

Herr Matthias - 2008-03-28

I fell for U-Force, ended up taking it back.

boner - 2008-03-28

I had the glove and the Glove Ball game. The glove only worked intermittently. Some days it just couldn't sense your motions. When it worked it was about as good as the Wii.

Jeff Fries - 2008-03-27

Since everyone knows about the Power Glove now maybe it's time to move on to the U-Force.

SARS - 2008-03-28

I agree.
Mostly, I was just confused why nobody had posted this video yet? I felt it needed to be added to the zeitgeist. That said, we should move on to the U-Force. It's not as badass as the glove, but it is WAY more futuristic.

SARS - 2008-03-28

oh. and because there's hardly any videos of the U-Force; just some wussy kid taking too long to demonstrate one

Jeff Fries - 2008-03-28

Yeah I noticed that too. A good thing about the U-Force though is that it lets you reach into the chest of your enemy and take their heart in your hand and crush it.

EvilHomer - 2008-03-28

Was that even released? I remember spooging myself over some U-Force previews in Nintendo Power back in the day, but I never saw it in any stores nor ever met anyone who had it. I always assumed it fizzled before it hit the market, like Thrill Kill or a Sega system which didn't suck.

benchmark - 2008-03-28

I bought a U-Force back in 1995 or so. I think it was at a Big Lots or some other closeout store, and I didn't pay much more than for it. But hey, it gave me an excuse to bring out my old NES.

Needless to say, I didn't use it for more than ten minutes or so before I gave up trying to figure the damn thing out and put it back in the box. I do remember going on a bit of a NES gaming spree in the following weeks after that, though.

Billie_J_Buttfuck - 2008-03-27

Fond memories, but the set-up took forever to figure out.

KnowFuture - 2008-03-28

The only place outside the commercials where I EVER saw ANYBODY use one of these was in that one scene from one of the Nightmare On Elm Street movies where Freddie kills a kid using video games.

Gwago - 2008-03-29

If only it actually worked that well...

fluffy - 2009-09-09

Long after it was discontinued, the Power Glove found new life in the emergent homebrew VR community on the PC, because it turned out to be quite capable and easy to hack and just as good as extremely expensive SGI VR gloves.
