I played this once, and that was one time too many. Plus two stars for the cheesy fantasy effects.

I remember this being a 90s era thing in the US. Dork conversion kit included.
Caminante Nocturno
I think one of my friends still has his copy lying in some dark, forgotten catacomb of his house.

I wonder if showing this to him will make him want to play it again.

I saw this ad when I was 10 and BEGGED for it for my birthday. I got it...and after 8 hours of setting it up and learning the rules, the gameplay was so tedious that I couldn't take it anymore. we returned it and got...i dunno...battletoads. yeah, that will soothe my memory.

ah, reading the rulebook was your mistake sonny. I didn't learn to read until I was sixteen so I enjoyed every second of this fabulous diversion. I call upon the power of the cancer sword!!! 300,000 points!!!!!!!!!!

This seems to be the same as the U.S. commercial but with different voices dubbed over.

Bet they are beating themselves up over those "magic cards."
coprolalia
You mean between raking in the piles of cash from Wizards of the Coast now that they own them?

Hasbro bought WOTC not MB, and they spent a retarded 325 million on it instead of just hiring some nerds to make up Magic Cards themselves.

coprolalia
What? I said they bought WoTC, and Hasbro has owned MB since 1984.

Ooh, the exact moment when Games Workshop decided to use its powers for evil.

I loved this game... had solid parts. Came with a book of pre-arranged dungeons on a continuing arc; or you could make your own. We played it like 6 or 7 times until total dork conversion was achieved.
glasseye
I played this game a ton in middle school... it was awesome. I think we mostly made up our own rules too.
Mr. Purple Cat Esq.
I did the same with the later space hulk themed one. I remember making up my own deeper scenarios / plots and game mechanics, like for instance there was one mission where the space-hulk they were in started disintegrating at the end of the mission and they had to escape.

Rodents of Unusual Size
This is more 80's than a room full of headbands and leg warmers.

I remember this commercial. My brother had the game, but I don't recall him ever actually playing it.

Also, these assholes made the PC game Hero's Quest change their name to Quest for Glory.

Really? Those bastard! Oh well, QFG still rules all.

Squeamish
Oh my God that's Christopher Lee doing the voice-overs

D&D would later go on to make Dragon Strike, a knockoff of a knockoff of their product.
Nikon
My D&D group bought copies of this to repurpose all the figs that came with the board game.
