It has come to our attention that one or more of the staff has been using the 3D printer to make penises, and has been hiding them throughout the office.

End of the story: this is the most awesome thing I've ever seen. I want a hundred of them, and I don't do shit with 3-D. Yet, I mean. Obviously I would start.

This technology is coming along nicely, and it seems like every year or so it gets much more impressive than the last.

Of course, the real turning point will be when these things can build circuits and can fabricate their own repair/replacement parts. (Not that it'd make things magically cheaper or whatever since the raw materials will still be pretty expensive, it's just that it'd signify the point when these things can become a complete end-to-end prototyping system.)
