How in the world could they not invite Fox News?

StanleyPain - 2008-07-22

Have you heard their new meme? Because Fox News was not prominently invited and/or featured in this Mideast trip, everything Obama does that involves journalists "isn't real" and is "staged and fake" because REAL journalists like Fox were not allowed to monitor the proceedings to make sure they were on the level.

"Let me just say something about the message management. He didn't have reporters with him, he didn't have a press pool, he didn't do a press conference while he was on the ground in either Afghanistan or Iraq. What you're seeing is not reporters brought in. You're seeing selected pictures taken by the military, questions by the military, and what some would call fake interviews, because they're not interviews from a journalist. So, there's a real press issue here. Politically it's smart as can be. But we've not seen a presidential candidate do this, in my recollection, ever before."

- Andrea Mitchell to Chris Wallace on Hardball

Funny skit by Colbert though.

Andrea's missing something from her marriage and it has nothing to do with inflation

StanleyPain - 2008-07-22

Don't seem to have a problem with the "press sit downs" in the white house where only select journalists are invited or the Pentagon disinformation scandal, though. What is it Obama is doing wrong again?

Cleaner82 - 2008-07-22

Andrea is grouchy because she didn't get to go.

The entire right wing machine has been propagated on the basest deception for eight years, an unending litany of photo ops and rigged interviews, a press corps that as Stanley says is bought off with passes to the press conferences. And Obama goes to Iraq to take some pictures and suddenly it's a big deal. I'm a little confused about how a military interview is supposed to be fake, is the military now working for Obama?

Do we suddenly care about deception? What a funny selective perception the Right has, focusing on this whif of playing the political game, when right behind them, breathing roughly in their ear, the white house is fucking them in the ass.

There once was a guy named Obama
Who said 'Mission Accomplished' was drama.
But when he went overseas
The press fell to its knees
And now Obama's the new photo-op Brahma.

I wrote this.

And syllable problems

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-07-23

I'm going to start pronouncing Chris Wallace's last name as an urping sound.
