These videos are a colossal bout of stupid, but one of my pet peeves is the conservative/right-wing meme thing about how America is a Republic and not a Democracy (although I can't fathom why anyone would want to make such an argument, anyway).
This is a great example of how stupid these people are.

A republic is technically any society that is not ruled by a monarchy or any monarchy-like system, but rather a society run by a government founded on something other than "these people rule because they are the ruling family." So, a republic has to have some form of government, yes? So, in our republic, we have a democracy. And yes morons, it IS a democracy. Is it a total and completely unrestrained democracy? No. It's a partial, representative democracy since the founding fathers saw the many flaws in a total democracy.
So America IS a republic. A democratic republic founded on the principles of restrained democracy AND republicanism.

There are no McCain voters. There are only anti-Obama voters.
