Did Griff honestly think these people would welcome Fox News with open arms?

Merkwuerdigeliebe - 2008-08-25

Merkwuerdigeliebe - 2008-08-25

Irony: Calling someone a fascist while preventing them from broadcasting.

CornOnTheCabre - 2008-08-25

alanis morissette called, she wants her command over the idea of irony back

Chet - 2008-08-25

I hate the new users. You are an idiot.

futurebot - 2008-08-25

Who's being "prevented" from broadcasting? It seems to me that they're perfectly welcome to stay, especially if they want footage of massive crowds of people chanting "Fuck Fox News".

Camonk - 2008-08-25

What's really ironic is how much you should cram it, buttpipe.

Rudy - 2008-08-25

True. All Griff wanted was to find out why these people hate America so much, and this is how he is treated.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2008-08-25

Yeah you really have to feel for Fox reporters for being oppressed so much.

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-08-25

It went about as well for them as it should have.

Hooper_X - 2008-08-25

The sad part is, this bunch makes everyone with a legitimate gripe about Fox look like assholes.

I mean, don't get me wrong, you have to be dumb not to realize that Fox is slanted towards the right. That being said, you go to the liberals' precious sweet utopia of Europe and you have newspapers that openly wear their political affiliation on their sleeve. You want liberal claptrap, you grab one paper, you want conservative rhetoric, you grab the other. No reason why the 24 hour channels shouldn't just come out and fess up to it.

Fox News: A Conservative Voice. BFD. The real bugbear is that FN, and implicitly, everyone else, claims to be impartial and unbiased, which is patently retarded. Having worked in one for several years, I can safely say there is no such thing as an unbiased newsroom.

I'd go so far as to say there's no such thing as an unbiased ANYTHING, really.

tldr: everyone is biased, the crowd in this video did exactly what the fox news gang wanted them to - they acted like RADICAL LIBERAL ACTIVISTS UNNNGH.

simon666 - 2008-08-25

i think the idea is FN has manipulated the news to such a degree, they have become the symbolize all that is wrong with modern mass media. particularly by relying on the editorial as form of reporting, almost entirely, while giving 'anchors' the leeway to make comments about what they've just seen played.

grimcity - 2008-08-25

I often hope that Fox enjoys the ratings it gets because people watch it in the same way people rubberneck when they drive by traffic accidents. I'm pretty sure I'm wrong though.

glendower - 2008-08-25

It's clips like this that make me ashamed to be part of the anti-war crowd. It just proves that even people who see through the BS of the Iraq war are not above ignorant mob madness. No matter how much they may hate Fox, the network has the 1st amendment right to cover something on a public street. Also, they let their self righteousness get in the way of realizing these guys are just peons in the FOX network.

futurebot - 2008-08-25

In what sense has anyone's "1st amendment rights" been violated here? And in what sense are the people who are directly involved in the production of FOX propaganda "just peons"?

Alektorophobic - 2008-08-25

If you knew that a reporter and his cameraman and other crew were coming to your protest to film you, ask people questions, and then cut and edit the footage to attack and discredit you, would you really want them there?

I love the cameraman getting all cocky: "You could have said what you wanted to say!" knowing full well that once any footage gets back to FOX, it would be changed to suit whatever they wanted it to.

SolRo - 2008-08-25

Fuck Fox News!

Watch the other clip, the douchebag just stands in the middle of the street in the way of the march and starts trying to ask questions while walking against the flow of people, then whining "don't you believe in 1st amendment rights?" when people decided they don't want to answer him.

They didn't break his camera or his face, I don't see any freedoms violated.

chumbucket - 2008-08-25

1st amendment? I didn't see the GOVERNMENT cutting fox news out of this coverage..this was people telling Fox news to go f themselves. Totally different and completely justified.

Adham Nu'man - 2008-08-25

Dear glendower, in the diagrams below, the arrow represents the path of the protesters, while the X represents the location of the FOX news crew.

DIAGRAM 1:

------------------------------------------------------->

X

As you can see in diagram 1 above, Fox News have positioned themselves next to the path of the protesters, allowing for unobstructed marching and unobstructed filming of said marching. THIS IS GOOD.

DIAGRAM 2:

------------------------->X

As you can see in diagram 2 above, Fox News have foolishly positioned themselves directly in the path of the protesters, which might result in injury. THIS IS BAD.

I hope the matter is clear to you now.

StanleyPain - 2008-08-25

Two people (or parties) yelling at each other in the street does not really constitute a violation of the first amendment on either side. People really should improve their incredibly weak grasp of constitutional law when it comes to the First Amendment.

futurebot - 2008-08-25

Absolutely fantastic. The crowd shows remarkable discipline and self-restraint - despite all of the crybabies here who think that the 1st amendment looks like a scene from a high school debate tournament, there is no actual violence in this clip. FOX makes the idiotic mistake of assuming they're going to get sympathetic footage from the left flank, and its lackeys get a healthy dose of public scorn and shame. This is what the 1st amendment is all about.

Hooper_X - 2008-08-25

No, Fox News got EXACTLY what they wanted from those guys - vitriol and bile. They're going to take that FUCK FOX NEWS video back home and edit it up and show the good folks at home just how mean and hateful and anti-american the protesters are.

Everyone loses.

futurebot - 2008-08-25

I'm not sure what you mean by "vitriol" and "bile", any impartial viewer is going to see a mass demonstration of well-earned contempt. The only people who are going to see this as "mean and hateful and anti-american" are the ones who were disposed to in the first place.

Lindner - 2008-08-25

Well when you find an impartial viewer, let me know. I've been lead to believe that they were extinct.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2008-08-25

I don't know if they can air it since they would have to bleep the entire thing.

CornOnTheCabre - 2008-08-25

Anyone who doesnt at least crack a smile at any huge crowd of people shouting FUCK FOX NEWS is probably never going to change the channel for long enough to do anything other than hate liberals and vote republican.

zatojones - 2008-08-25

I hate these guys, but I can't argue with their hatred of Fox "News".

mouser - 2008-08-25

Yeah. Nothing like a bunch of douche calling off douchecasters.

bias - 2008-08-25

yah fucking people caring about things and exercising their basic democratic rights, what a bunch of fags.

Cleaner82 - 2008-08-25

As long as they're not MEAN about it.

Timothy A. Bear - 2008-08-25

Girl fight!

Cleaner82 - 2008-08-25

I absolutely could not be happier with the way that went.

fatatty - 2008-08-25

Why the hell would you bring a toddler to a protest?

Reminds me of the time my parents brought me to an anti-abortion rally when I was too young to understand what abortion even meant or understand why people were throwing things at us as they drove by.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2008-08-25

I've seen people bring their kids to anti gay protests in front of the local pride parade, too. The parents view it as educational.

charmlessman - 2008-08-25

That warmed my heart.

And, for the record, no 1st amendment rights were violated there. The 1st amendment states that the GOVERNMENT can't take away your free speech and free press rights. It says absolutely nothing about a pissed off crowd telling a fake news organization to go fuck themselves.

My only regret was that this didn't happen live on Faux.

DMKA - 2008-08-25

Fuck Fox News.

Blaise - 2008-08-25

Imagine a reporter and a cameraman walking into a march from the opposite direction of traffic, stopping, and then asking people questions like "What about my freedom of speech".

A reasonable person might think that was disturbing the peace.

bopeton - 2008-10-03

Fox News sucks, but really... we sort of have this whole "defend to the death your right to say it" thing regarding the media. At least we're supposed to I thought. Maybe I'm in the wrong America.

On the other hand, I guess it wasn't police shutting down their attempts to make "news."

PurpleXVI - 2008-12-23

You know, I hate the demonstrators more than Fox News.

The demonstrators are the ones behaving like shrieky little childrein this situation, seriously, they're practically mauling the fucking cameraman, at least try to act a bit civilized, Jesus Christ.

Nominal - 2020-07-23

Remember how much of a turd this turd was?

kwash - 2009-10-10

5 stars for YOU FASCIST FUCKS

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2010-01-31

Remember when everyone said fox news was a public relations network for the white house?

flotsam - 2010-03-20

:20 - EUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNGHHH!

Slagathor - 2010-06-22

Fox is a corporate whore. There's not really any question of that.
