Wouldn't "Changes" have made a better choice, then?

Still, 5 stars for one of my favorite Bowie tracks.

"Changes" is a song about adolescence. This is a song about the inevitable crash and burn of the old generation and the rise of the new one, lovely and frightening. That's my take on it, anyway.

I always thought it was inspired at least in part by "The Midwich Cuckoos" By John Wyndham.

"Changes" would have been a good choice too but I think this song is completely appropriate, especially the "earth is a bitch" line.
