People helped Big Bird off stage, after he tearfully said his musical goodbye to Kermit, in a song about how being different isn't easy, but it's still beautiful.

I know objectively it was to help a man in a costume off-stage, but aside from personal tragedy, that's the closest you can get to a gut-punch in the soul.
