gah! what's the name of the song that this sound almost but not entirely like?

kiint - 2008-10-28

irene cara, what a feeling

Hooper_X - 2008-10-28

Take your pants off. Make it happen.

(you know the best part? I'd bet money that Apple actually paid Irene Cara to do this instead of just getting some douchebag from Marketing and the dance version.)

Nah, not in 1983. There was a time when they didn't have a multi-billion-dollar valuation.

"tons and tons of cocaine"

kelpfoot - 2008-10-29

This video contains a Mac Plus and therefore dates to some time after January 10, 1986.

Hooper_X - 2008-10-29

I don't know what's more awkward and sad - the fact that Apple did a riff on "What a Feeling" three years after it was a hit or the fact that you, POETV user "kelpfoot" were able to not only identify a Mac Plus in this video, but know the release date of said machine.

God bless us, everyone.

I didn't see any Mac Pluses, just original Macs (judging by the keyboards) and Lisas (with the 5.25" dual drives and external hard drive).

Also, the video seemed to be heavily promoting the Apple III, which was discontinued in mid-1984. So, I'm guessing it was produced in the first few months of 1984, after the original Mac came out but before the Apple III went away.

Clearly I am a bigger Apple fag than kelpfoot. Although I don't have dates memorized, as I had to consult Wikipedia. (Also the reason I remember the original Mac's terrible keyboard was because back then I hated Macs because of the terrible keyboard, and when my school upgraded to Mac Pluses I was relatively relieved, even though I still wished they'd just get Commodore 128s instead because THAT IS THE FUTURE OF COMPUTERS.)

were those applause and cheers at the end? was this some kind of awards show?

i still think it must have been more fun to be an adult in the 80s than a kid.i should ask my parents!

Hooper_X - 2008-12-10

THIS IS WHAT APPLE OWNERS ACTUALLY BELIEVE.

as much as i enjoy my pretentious expensive sleek white spaceship-like laptop, i kind of really miss the old apple, before they had any kind of pop culture connection and still used that horrible font for everything.
