Y'know, all sillyness aside, Richard Simmons is a good person. He legitimately gives a shit.

(also: holy shit, Richard Simmons is 60?! He looks great.)

Cleaner82 - 2008-12-02

Nutty as a fruitcake and easily twice as fruity. But I can't find a single reason not to like the guy.

simon666 - 2008-12-02

I couldn't get through this entire video, but I have nothing but respect for this guy.

uekibachi - 2008-12-02

wow.

Randroid - 2008-12-02

Surreal but in a good way.

Unsung - 2008-12-02

I can only hope look half that good at 60.

mouser - 2009-01-12

Minus the Krusty hair.

But 5 for the guy himself.

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2008-12-02

Every time I hear his voice, it's an assault on the ears, but he's got a zeal about helping the children, so that's cool.

Pacobird - 2008-12-02

Interesting point. Sports are by their very nature competitive and thus exclusive. It's all well and good to inspire a sense of healthy competition but encouraging kids to be active and watch their health shouldn't be built around parading their inability to catch a ball in front of their peers.

chumbucket - 2008-12-02

seeing him all suited up makes me wonder if he loses the wacky hair he'd probably look like an asshole corporate lawyer

Hooper_X - 2008-12-02

if he slicked it back? totally.

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-12-02

Laugh all you want, but he's got more backbone than most of us put together.

sparklefatty - 2009-01-15

YEAH IF YOU LIKE A HOMO WITH A BACKBONE

I probably should have watched the video before I said that, though.

kennydra - 2008-12-02

I wouldn't really call that erudite. Nor dignified, really, but I guess FOR RICHARD SIMMONS wearing a suit is dignified.

I have always liked Richard Simmons. He's a boatload of crazy but it's the good kind.

Aoi - 2008-12-02

Yes, it's remarkably erudite and dignified...for Richard Simmons.

Though he's always struck me as someone that realizes such things are unimportant when compared to his ability to get his message out to the world.

charmlessman - 2008-12-02

I'm thinking that just below the camera's frame, he's wearing those red and white striped shorts.

Goofy Gorilla - 2008-12-02

If you want to be generally liked and respected have an admirable single-minded ambition like "make people fit and healthy." Then you can be about as crazy as you want.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2008-12-02

God he's insane. Not that many people have the guts to get emotional in front of Congress, though so kudos to him.

wtf japan - 2008-12-03

Mrs. Smith goes to Washington.

libby1217 - 2008-12-07

it seems he does care...even though we've laughed at him through the years...the guy really does care...wow!!!we should learn alot from this!!!

McGillistabby - 2010-02-08

Fatty behind him is not amused.

fluffy - 2010-09-19

No child left behind, especially not the fat ones.
