OOOHH!!!!
See.. I saw that this was opening in my theatre and I went "WTF IS THAT?!?!" and learned about it.. and then I forgot to ask anyone else if they heard about it.
True story.
So which regular worked on this?

Probably just because they both pull from Romeo and Juliet, but this looks embarrassingly like a rip-off of Hallmark Hall of Fame's Magical Legend of the Leprechauns.

So, as one of the hundreds of millions who didn't bother -
Marketing? Even this promo didn't know whether it wanted the pre-teen or family audience, and I never heard a thing about this movie before today.
Character designs are just far enough into the uncanny valley, make that guy read some Desmond Morris or sumthing to get characters that we can either identify with, hate on sight, or find cute.
I'm just guessing here. but it looks like the plot was cut/pasted by a by someone only exposed in his Skinner box to the last 30 years of scifi/fantasy film. Which is fine for straight to video for the pure kiddie market, but the Pixar edge is IMO mainly in the scripts. 8 year olds won't be paying for the tickets. Pop culture refs seem to work, though I'd definitely like to see alternatives (I'm well past the target demo).

allcaps - 2008-12-17 Your timely critique will certainly cause many people to think twice before going to see this movie! I wonder if your incisiveness on this popular Internet forum will get noticed by Hollywood executives, who will hire you to inject that spark of verve and originality that they themselves cannot provide. If I were you, I'd be packing my best colored shades and Hawaiian shirt, and waiting eagerly by the phone.

Might have helped if a spaztic 8 year old didn't edit the trailers.
WTF is the movie about again?

I keep pressing start, why won't it let me skip it?

Awesome! It looks just like Kaena meets Ferngully! And the trailer makes me believe it's just about that good too!

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2008-12-17
Kaena looks like she has a bit of Downs.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2008-12-17 or whatever her name is. God, I can barely remember anything from this just after watching it...by brain is trying to scrub itself clean.

balistic - 2008-12-17 I've been at another studio for over a year now, but the Delgo checks always cleared, and I left with 4 months severance. The place wasn't union, but it wasn't a sweatshop either.

per theater. Wow.

I love the epic voiceover, combined with a really weak, mood-destroying joke. THEY'LL HAVE TO FIGHT FOR FREEDOM
*FART*
AND LOVE FOR JUSTICE
*POOP JOKE*

Xenocide - 2008-12-17 We've decided that what this trailer needs is to be completely derailed by a burp joke.

Yeah. If this is the only thing I've ever seen about this film, I'd say the marketing department is being fired right now.
Seriously, this wasn't DTV?

"A forbidden romance will unleash an evil unlike anything ever known!"
Finally, an animated film about Hitler's parents.

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-12-17
This movie is like an unavoidable accident.
