If you read about the early Zionist movements you'll find a lot of ideology and secular mythology that seem to fit this guy.

The Holocaust taught the 40s-50s Zionists one thing: that it's preferable if you are the strong one holding the gun. Also, the holocaust victims were thought to be weak and somehow "defective". By returning to Israel this would magically be rectified.

The victimized "soaps", the intellectual "ghetto Jew", would by reconnecting with the soil (Boden) and hard work of Israel turn his body (Blut) into that of superior, soldier-farmer pioneers in the kibbutz. The new Israelite was basically a self-made stereotypical anti-Jew.

Yeah, the Palestinians are also a Semitic people. And it makes me wonder sometimes if the U.S. would be so eager to support Israel were it populated mainly by Sephardic Jews rather than Ashkenazi. Maybe I'm just being naive or 3dgy, but it seems to me that Israel being the whitest nation in the Middle East has something (but not everything) to do with the U.S.'s blind support.

The Sephardi as well as Russian Jewish immigrants are disliked and have been mistreated by many settled Israelis of European origin. However, the U.S.'s support is not a result of their relative "whiteness." Of course, maybe Bubba Baptist wouldn't be so keen on giving money to the nation of Israel were it populated by a browner complexioned race--so you may have a small something there.
