Actually, they make a lot of their own instruments, sometimes out of things they just find in junk yards or wherever. This song isn't indicative of that, but they are always experimenting with new types of sound in a way that really does set them apart.
Let's see. "THEM AIN'T USIN' REAL INSTRY-MENTS"? Check. Comparison to the only electronic act you've ever heard of, which sounds nothing like the act in question? Double check.
I know it's hardly a risky thing to say at this point, but god, I love this album. I was worried about this after the just-okay Strawberry Jam and the absolute dogshit that was the Avey Tare solo LP.
Oh wow. Strawberry Jam didn't grab me at all (especially since I was still riding the high from the Panda Bear solo LP) but I think this just sold me on the new one.
